As we end 2021, we are starting (again) to set our new year's goals. Unfortunately, only the diligent ones are blessed to follow their lists for 2022.

The 52-week challenge savings where you save a fixed amount every week, or the modified version where you increment your savings as the week progresses. Whatever the case, depending on your financial capability and other life's circumstances, it is not easy to diligently follow this challenge.

I've published an article The Top 3 Easy Ipon Challenges That You Can Start This New Year to help ordinary folks like me to save, but not to the point that the challenge feels like a burden or a chore.

I did not just write the article but also practiced the challenge. I followed two of the challenges.

    These are the results:

    The Loose Change Ipon Challenge

I've chosen to save the newly released 20Php coin for this challenge. As you may have guessed, this is not in full circulation yet. Encountering this coin is not that high. Due to that, I've only saved the amount of Php260.00.

I can feel that you are internally laughing as you are reading this.

    The 50 Peso Ipon Challenge

As I mentioned in that article, encountering the 50Php bill is not that high compared to 20Php and 100Php. This is a good starting point to save for beginners.

In one year, I've saved a total of Php6,950.00.

Compared to the standard ipon challenge, my saved amount is relatively small. But there is one aspect that I am proud of when doing these challenges.

I never failed even once doing this. The reason is that the challenge was doable and tailored to my lifestyle and financial habits.

The standard ipon challenge may have forgotten to take into account that each individual is of different circumstances. A single person will have a different circumstance compared to a family man/woman. Thus, making the 52-week money challenge either easy or difficult depending on the person involved.

    My Ipon Challenge for 2022

I will still follow the top 3 challenges I've written previously:

    • Loose Change Ipon Challenge (20Php Coin)
    • 50Php Bill Ipon Challenge
    • 12% Ipon Challenge

Also, after experiencing the challenge for a year. I've come to a conclusion to add another coin to save under the loose change ipon challenge. And that is the 10Php coin.

Based on my experience, my encounter with this coin is not that high compared to the 1Php and 5Php coins. So this is a doable coin to save.

    Closing Thoughts

The Money Saving Challenge is not about how much you will save at the end of the year. Its main goal is to help you practice the following keys to success: Patience, Consistency, and Faith.

    Happy New Year!
